PHPFreeNews allows you to maintain and publish news articles on your website. Features include: - View the news as short-posts and long-posts - Make news available as RSS feeds. - Categorise your news - Prioritise your news. - Define separate users with permissions. - Edit the templates used to generate the news - Use user-definable short-codes in your templates - Use standard BB codes such as [email] and [b]. - Make any number of postings "sticky". - Make postings invisible - Being continually enhanced based upon user-feedback. - Very fast news-generation Written in pure PHP. It started life as Atomic Penguin News, but AP News seems to have died. PHPFreeNews is a complete rewrite with many enhancements. The only trace of AP News which remains is the visual layout. Requires PHP and MySql. Should work on any recent version of these. Developed in Dreamweaver; running live on Linux.
