This small script (or pull the function out and paste into your own script) can quickly and accurately validate e-mail address format. checkEmail supports international and other e-mail address formats by allowing for 2-4 character TLDs, so any address like: happy.gilmore@acs.co.uk validates. Runs quickly in scripts and the function just returns "true" on a validated address.
